Brenda Benna, RYT - no ext.
Yoga Instructor
“Tadaa Drashtuh Svaroope ‘Vasthanam”
Brenda teaches hatha yoga in the Svaroopa style. Developed by Rama Berch of Master Yoga Foundation in La Jolla, California, Svaroopa yoga is becoming increasingly recognized as one of the most compassionate and reliable methods of working with the body, the mind and the emotions.
While the practice of Svaroopa yoga works on the body to improve physical well-being, it is more than just a sophisticated form of exercise. It is transformative. Svaroopa yoga uses precisely aligned poses, or asanas, to release the tensions in the deepest layers of the spine to create a core opening. Although the physical changes are profound, they are secondary to the changes that open your eyes to a new way of living and being. In Sutra 1.3 of the Yoga Sutras, Pantanjali says “tadaa drashtuh svaroope ‘vasthanam”, promising that the moment your mind becomes still, you will reside in the bliss of your own being.
Svaroopa yoga is not about perfect bodies or perfect poses and is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. All classes teach the fundamentals of Svaroopa Yoga and are for both beginners and continuing students. Brenda is also available for private instruction.
