Other services include:

  • Parent Coordination
This is especially appropriate for parents who want to avoid undue conflict and stress for their families during the process of separation and divorce.  Collaboration with attorneys to develop appropriate parenting plans that support the emotional health of the children is a part of this process.

  • Parent Seminars
Families experience considerable stress during the process of learning to live in separate households.  These seminars are designed to help parents who are living separately understand the dynamics and  impact of the changes  both they and their children face and to learn to respond in ways that promote  healthy adjustment and emotional growth for the whole family.  It is important for children to have both of their parents function in an involved and caring way in all areas of their lives.

    Topics include:

    • How separation and divorce affects children and adults
    • How to keep children out of the middle of adult conflicts
    • How to communicate more effectively  in difficult situations
    • How to help yourself and your children cope with the changes
    • How Parenting Plans,  Parent Coordination,  and Mediation can be useful for your family
    • How to plan for the future

A six hour seminar is offered on the third Saturday of each month at the Center for Mind Body Therapies. Lecture, video and small group work is included in each session. Pre-registration is requested.  For registration information,  questions, and  dates and times, please call Linda at 301-631-2936.
