Practitioners at the Center for Mind-Body Therapies of Frederick, Maryland recognize and embrace the interaction between mind, body, and spirit in supporting health and healing.Our focus is on integrating conventional mental health care with complementary healing modalities, such as acupuncture, therapeutic massage and bodywork.

Nina integrates body-mind and spiritual awareness in her psychotherapy practice of 25 years. She provides psychothreapy for adults, couples and groups specialing in addictions, co-dependency, depression, grief and loss, personal and spiritual life transition and relationship difficulties. She utilizes a holistic approach blending cognitive behavioral therapy. EMDR, stress-reduction , guided imagery, and meditation techniques. Nina is also a feng shui practicioner providing traditional feng shui and 5 element Chinese astrology for home and business.
Regina is a LCPC(licensed clinical professional counselor). She provides counseling for adults, couples and groups for depression, anxiety, difficult relationships, personal and spiritual growth, substance abuse, and life transitions and losses. She has been involved with mind-body practices since 1995. She received her M.S. from Johns Hopkins University and completed postgraduate training at the Anxiety and Stress Disorders Institute of Maryland. She is also a certified massage therapist.
JoAnn blends traditional therapeutic approaches (cognitive-behavioral, psycho- dynamic, existential, play) with complementary ones (mindfulness meditation, the use of art and other expressive techniques, visualization, spiritual awareness). JoAnn specializes in psychotherapy with children, adolescents and families with a particular specialty working with deaf clients. She is fluent in American Sign Language and has worked with the deaf community for more than 20 years. In addition to her psychotherapy practice, she conducts psychological evaluations.
Kate earned her Masters of Acupuncture degree from the Tai Sophia Institute in Columbia, Maryland, and also studied acupuncture in the United Kingdom with Dr. J.R. Worsley. Kate is a national board-certified and state-licensed acupuncturist who is a faculty member at Tai Sophia. She believes that being in partnership with someone through their healing process, assisting them to access their own innate healing power is a privilege and an honor.
Linda is a licensed clinical social worker with 10 years experience and a master’s degree from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. She provides psychotherapy for adults, families and groups for depression, anxiety, relationship issues, post traumatic stress and grief. Her approach embraces the mind-body-spirit connection and clients’ strengths. She has post-graduate training in the assessment and treatment of adults who have survived childhood trauma.
Linda provides holistic-oriented treatment utilizing cognitive behavioral and expressive techniques to assist individuals and couples who are experiencing difficulties with emotional, relational, behavioral and life transition issues. Linda offers bi-monthly seminars to families who are experiencing separation and divorce with an emphasis on the development of parenting agreements and co- parenting skills. She is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland School of Social Work.
Zoë is a licensed clinical social worker who provides individual, couple, and group psychotherapy for adults. Her areas of interest and experience are with relationship concerns, personal growth, depression and anxiety, addictions, and issues associated with experienced trauma. Zoë earned her MSW at the University of Maryland and has worked in settings that include inpatient psychiatric care, domestic violence, crisis intervention, and addiction counseling. She has also completed post-graduate training in the treatment of trauma at the University of Maryland.
Brenda teaches hatha yoga in the Svaroopa style. Developed by Rama Berch of Master Yoga Foundation in La Jolla, California, Svaroopa yoga is becoming increasingly recognized as one of the most compassionate and reliable methods of working with the body, the mind and the emotions.
Heather graduated and became a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner in 2003 after completing 650 hours of training in assisted asana technique, therapeutic dialogue, body/mind integrative techniques, applied anatomy and more.The blend of classical yoga with modern psychology found in PRYT supports Heather's personal mission of "empowering people to be fully alive," while nurturing her own well being and spirit.
